North Node 12th House, Pisces North Node, Virgo South Node

Is your North Node in the 12th house? Then it has an undertone of Pisces, and your South Node automatically falls into the 6th house, which has a Virgo undertone. Add the description of the sign of your North Node to this house position to deepen your understanding of your Nodal axis...and, you can deepen your understanding of North Node in Pisces, no matter what house it falls in your chart.

With a North Node in the 12th house we are deep in the “house that Carl Jung built.” This is the area of the deep psyche, the unconscious, and with a North Node here we are wise to explore beneath the surface of life to the unconscious subtle realms of the heart as expressed in music, art, poetry and painting. We are called to “the monastery” here in the sense that it is a non-verbal, solitary, spiritual call towards Self awareness. The 12th house has sometimes been called the house of troubles, because it can’t be dealt with logically and pragmatically, and to do so doesn’t benefit the person with a North Node in this house. However, the key to this house placement is that there is no longer any need for troubles, duties, obligations, humility and service! All those are embodied in the opposite 6th house. As a 12th house North Node person you have earned the right to take the deep pleasures of the unconscious: gifts of magic, insight and deep peace.

The karmic pull of your past with the South Node in the 6th house will be one that tries to pull you back to be of help to others, with an emphasis on the skillful use of the mind and duty, rather than the promptings of the heart. The default tendency here will be about thinking rather than feeling, working rather than playing, honoring logic more than intuition. The North Node goal is a move away from the particular and detailed attention that the 6th house requires, to the spiritual meaning-making, and only partially “conscious” quality of the 12th house. This evolutionary pull towards the 12th house, which is ruled by Pisces, will be to balance and correct that tendency with a more imaginative and universal type of thinking in which the goal is to create more compassion in our lives by simply loving ourselves and others more. We’ve earned a degree of rest and release from duty.

This placement is sometimes, paradoxically, not an easy one because it’s not easily accessible by rational thought and direct approaches. It almost sneeks up on us, like pleasure does sometimes. So we approach 12th house activities with our hearts, with the arts, with feelings, and obliquely through dreams and divination. There are often issues around trust and faith, when Neptunian confusion fogs the clarity that can be attained with this placement. True enlightenment and clarity are real possibilities for people with the North Node in the 12th, however “getting it” for you may often be as simple as just softening and accepting into the process of living and loving.

The high road for North Node 12th house folks is a fascinating journey into the worlds where not everything is obvious or as it appears to be. It’s a world where even limitations can be a profound gift. Who has not enjoyed the occasional “mental health day” when we’ve stayed in bed or in our pajamas without leaving the house? In the 12th house, what is buried in the unconscious is begging for conscious understanding and acceptance. Jungian psychology and counseling, with its emphasis on creative expression of non-verbal dreams and images, and its encouragement towards unique individuality rather than collective moralities, can be very nurturing and deepening for 12th house people. ~elizabeth Spring More at: www.elizabethspring.com

  1. But how does it work if one has North Node in Pisces in the 6th?

Applying Piscean ways to Virgo's realms?
Is it a life of service and troubles?

I find myself always wanting to retreat back to that 12th house, solitary-- how safe it seems to be there, but the North Node requires me to be social, I guess--

Service and sacrifice? in daily life?

    1. I believe this placement generates a bit of confusion for most. I could be wrong, but you sound like a rising Libra, which has every sign in its opposite 'default' house. Basically, you have balance in all areas as a rising Libra (The 'face' of balance) should. So, your South node finds you having a very detailed oriented unconscious mind. You pick up on all sorts of things that people miss. This keeps you from participating in the network of life. With North node in Pisces 6, You must embrace the harrowing challenge of engaging in a freer, non-judgemental sea of life. The "Magic' is found in life when you find the place where you are given a break. Your unconscious mind fills you with fear and judgements, telling you to avoid places that are less than " perfect."

  2. Full of new insight!!

"However, the key to this house placement is that there is no longer any need for troubles, duties, obligations, humility and service."

Does this mean a north-node in H12 person is ready for the AVADHUTA way of life... 'to the pure everything is pure'?

  6. Thank you! I 'stumbled' onto your blog, and am I glad I did! I've been living the north node in my chart, but didn't really realize it until I read some of your blog posts. They have given me such relief to know I am growing in the direction I intended - confirmation is great. I have north node in cancer conjunct moon, in 12th house. It's such a relief to know that now that I'm an older adult, I can finally play without reminders to be 'responsible' to everyone else!

  7. Would you say that someone with a Pisces north node should veer away from a karma yoga path--that is the path of selfless service?

  11. Has anybody experienced that they do not need to service people? I was so unwilling to serve I was put into a mental hospital because it was believed that I would die from lack of care(others)/work(self)

My NN is in Capricorn conjunction Uranus and Neptune.

I only say to ask for help and to maybe warn others of the notion of being free of 'Troubles, obligation or service, humility' which is all I have done largely for years.

However I am starting to find some more much more liberation from service very recently.

    Many thanks

  12. What if your 12 house is ruled by Virgo and the north node is sitting there?

  13. I'm going to have to object to the Undetailed prescription of the Scorpio north node, feedback welcomed; on this spinning globe we all live on, it alone more that a million years has seen high mathematics, magic, birth, death, telecommunication era, summerions, moorish science, hitler, Justin briber, Olmec heads, pi, color of law actions from police, George Washington being the 9th president, carpenters and construction workers who build the world we live in , and all other practical history that actually birth the unbreakable foundation( Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo energies)
Why would anything or anyone be placed on this illustrious earth gor failure after true hard work, told their penis is to small, have problems with living, or any other thing that retricts movement forward for positive strides? If you really think about the complete chaos this world is in. You have 911 that happen- which was abviously a display of HIGH science " making 40 thousand tons + of steal dustify in less that -15 seconds" with cold fusion- Judy woods proved that along with John Hutchinson.
You have 1933 banking act and the 1953 court hearing from the irs ceo stating that income tax is voluntary etc, etc, pretty much I could go on and on of facts of successes, failures, oddballs, unfairness, magic - Picasso paintings being worth more than the average person will make , blah blah blah. So back to Scorpio in the twelfth house vs Taurus in the 6th house: if I needed to let go of the mundane low level or low energies of Taurus and go with Scorpio which let me tell you it's like building your own home then some woman walks buy and demands u marry her because her vagina is tighter that any other woman. To me what a balance Taurus can do vs a Scorpio ( inner chi wise) is a bit more reasonable, why would you want to not buy your own land and build a home built out of shipping container. Vs be vulnerable in this world with people who like to listen to rap song that's degrade them sub couscous oh or some over spiritual person who has no idea what an arduino is? I'm sorry but some of the post of Scorpio in 12th house - to the untrained receiver of the post would terrify them. One should way out in actualality what these energies can do. Act as if you are a bird floating in space watching to world and think about the uneccessary bullshit that happens. Then think of Arron shrourtz. Peace and love peps

  16. Danielle, WOW! That's a loaded 12th house!!Super Piscean! Are you very Intuitive too? I have 12th house North Node in Pisces as well but Sun, Moon and Mercury in 4th house Cancer. I am now studying Evolutionary Astrology and found that it's helped me a great deal to have clarity and better direction in my life. I've been super sensitive and emotional all my life and I have finally realized that I can't serve and make everyone happy. I can actually now enjoy and not feel guilty about doing nothing and thinking about what I can do for myself. Finally.. Yey!!
